Beavers Community Primary School

Living, Learning, Laughing

Sarah Smith (Headteacher) Having begun my teaching career here at Beavers as a Newly Qualified Teacher, I am fortunate to have been part of the journey we have taken to become an outstanding school and I feel privileged to be able to serve the school community as part of the senior leadership team. The children at this school are remarkable and I am often in awe of everything they achieve in their time with us, academically, personally and in all of the broader curricular areas. I am always delighted when a former pupil returns to tell us how much they have gone on to achieve. We are extremely fortunate to have such a committed and talented group of staff who all share the highest expectations for the children of this school. I look forward to playing a strategic role in continuing to strive for excellence for our children in order to ensure the best possible outcomes for them.

Michelle Davis (Co-Chair 2024 - 2025) (Local Authority)

With over 20 years of experience in the Finance sector, I believe that my skillset of strategic planning, problem solving and data analysis will bring value to my role as a governor at the Beavers Community Primary School.

I am passionate about education and the vital role it plays in building a community and enabling young people to grow into confident, happy adults. The mission we have at Beavers is to ensure the best start in life for all children in our care, if we achieve this for each child that comes into our school we will be making a big difference to them, their families and the community.

Outside of work, my passions are reading, spending time with my family and going for long walks.

Suresh Dhotre (Co-Chair 2024 - 2025)  (Co-Opted)  I have been a governor at Beavers Community Primary School since 2014.  I left the position in-between due to work commitments, later I expressed my interest to be a governor in October 2017 and got elected again.

I chose to join the Beavers Community Primary School governing board after two years of my eldest daughter joined the school in September 2012 and later my youngest daughter in September 2017. I was driven to get closer to the school in order to use my considerable skills and experience to drive the school forward.

I am now Co-Chair of Governors, which has given me a true insight to how a school is run.

My children attended this school and they have been very happy and still missing their school and teachers. Beavers will always be their first choice. If given an opportunity and if possible, my eldest daughter will come back to Beavers to do her further studies.

I work as a Civil Servant  at Heathrow Airport, where everyday is not the same.

In my spare time, I like to listen to music, play tennis, photography and cooking.

My vision is for Beavers to be the very best school it can be, ensuring the future happiness of its students by equipping them with the education, skills and values that give them choices in their future and I am proud to be part of it.

Matt Durbin (Co-Opted)

I am a seasoned professional in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods Industry, currently working with a well-known wholesaler. With a wealth of experience in data analysis, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and navigating fast-paced environments, I bring a unique skill set to my role as a School Governor.

My journey in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry has instilled in me a deep appreciation for strategic thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability. This, combined with my passion for education and commitment to community development, led me to take on the role of a School Governor. I am dedicated to leveraging my skills to contribute meaningfully to the growth and success of Beavers Community Primary School.

I envision Beavers Community Primary School as more than just an educational institution; it's a dynamic environment where every student is empowered to reach their full potential. Through collaborative efforts with fellow governors, teachers, parents, and students, I am committed to fostering an atmosphere of academic excellence, social growth, and emotional well-being.

With a solid background in data analysis and a knack for strategic thinking, I have successfully navigated the fast-paced landscape of the Fast Moving Consumer Goods Industry. My ability to adapt to changing situations and my commitment to excellence align seamlessly with the values of Beavers Community Primary School.

Rebeca Hercheui (Co-Opted) My daughter has been at Beavers Community Primary School since 2017, when she began attending Nursery, and I was elected Parent Governor in 2019 and subsequently a co-opted governor in 2022.

I am very engaged in my daughter's learning at home as well as at school, and I think parental engagement certainly has a positive effect on young children. So I love the fact that this school gives us a whole range of opportunities to get involved in, such as fayres, shows, coffee mornings, workshops, volunteering and even classroom activities.

I am a fun mum who strongly believes that children should have the best possible start in life. I think children should be given healthy food - good eating habits start young! -, and be exposed to a wide range of (positive) experiences and knowledge.

Titilola Kehinde (Co-Opted)  I recently joined Beavers Community Primary School as a Governor. I understand education can help shape and mould a child’s life. Primary education gives a solid foundation to prepare a child for further education, whole world beyond school and also creates an environment for the joy of lifelong learning.

As a local resident and parent, I appreciate the tough choices and definitive decisions schools have to make. I am very pleased and privileged to join the remarkable team of governors with such wealth of skill and experience; to play my part in providing support to Beavers Community Primary School.

With my background in law, I am excited about contributing to the future development and enhancement of the school’s standing. I am quite passionate about ethics and good governance, themes I believe are key to running a successful organisation. The entire staff, parents, children and governors at Beavers are doing a fantastic job in keeping it an outstanding school and I look forward to learning, growing and contributing to the success of the school.

Barbara Moses (Co-Opted) I am the Community Liaison Officer for the school and co-opted governor.  I have been a local resident in the area for over 20 years.  I worked as the Operations Manager for Sure Start Hounslow at The Hub for 13 years before coming to the school.  Also, the treasurer for TW4 Community Development Trust. Working in the community and contributing to making the area we live in a better place for our families is my driving force.  I am passionate about children’s rights and social awareness in general. I have a long standing relationship with Beavers as my children attended the school.  I get a lot of fulfilment working for and with the community, and it is my pleasure to be part of the Beavers family.

Femilola Miller (Co-Opted)  As a dedicated and experienced professional in the Food industry (FMCG), I am honoured to contribute to the educational excellence at Beavers Community Primary School as a co-opted school governor.

My passion for fostering a positive learning environment and ensuring every pupil's success aligns seamlessly with the values of Beavers Community Primary School. As a collaborative team player, I am committed to working closely with fellow governors, educators, and parents to contribute meaningfully to the continued growth and success of the school.
Together, I look forward to building a brighter future for the pupils and empowering them to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Bogdan Popescu (Co-Opted) I am a qualified Chartered Manager with senior management and leadership experience in the NHS, in primary and secondary care, currently responsible for the strategic and operational management of a division of regional health services in South West London.

A few highlights of my experience are:

  • Managing and leading large management and operational teams
  • Financial management and budget holding for multiple healthcare services
  • Introducing new ways of working, leading change and embracing and encouraging innovation and creativity
  • Coaching and mentoring people in public services to develop and progress in their management careers
  • Initiating, leading on and implementing strategic partnerships across multiple organisations and geographical regions

I am also involved in Inspire the Future programme, in supporting primary and secondary schools with a wide range of career events for their students.

As a dad to a 7 year old little princess, I am quite involved in her education in and out of school, so when the opportunity to serve as a co-opted governor for Beavers Community Primary School came up, I felt it was an honour and a privilege.

I strongly believe that Beavers is not only a school, but a family who cares deeply about their kids and are genuinely interested in seeing them learn, develop and ultimately live amazing, happy and successful lives.

I am very keen to support the school to continue the extraordinary work they do for the children, in a sustainable way, in a very complex and constantly changing social and political environment.

Dimple Ludhra (Staff) I achieved my Qualified Teacher Status in English Language and Linguistics at Roehampton University, graduating in 2004. I taught at a school in Southall for 13 years and then came to Beavers Community School as a Nursery teacher. At Beavers I became Head of Nursery in 2017 and in the following year, I was appointed as an Assistant Head teacher for Relationships.

Within the same year, I also became the staff Governor for the school. Throughout my time at Beavers, I have been part of a school which truly values and promotes personal development. It is my goal to combine my range of experiences, with my ability to be a compassionate and enthusiastic teacher which will make a positive contribution to both Beavers Community school and the larger community. I feel I have determination to ensure I make a success of the different roles that I am involved in.

Christina Coulston (Deputy Headteacher (Associate)) I have had the honour and privilege of working at Beavers Community Primary for the last 15 years; starting my journey as a Newly Qualified Teacher and now a member of the senior leadership team. In my role as curriculum lead, I am passionate about ensuring that the provision and education of each and every child is the best it can possibly be, working hard to ensure that we achieve high standards of educational achievement, allowing every child to reach their full potential whilst here at Beavers.  For me, it has always been important that school is more than just a place of learning. It’s a community that we can all be part of, support and friendship are key and are exemplified through our school ethos and values. I look forward to the opportunity to make a real contribution to the strategic management of the school, which will also provide me with an interesting and rewarding dimension to work.

Lucinda Palmer-Dunn (Deputy Headteacher (Associate)) As a former pupil myself, I feel extremely proud to be able to play a key role in maintaining and developing the excellent reputation that Beavers Community Primary School has amongst the local community. Since returning to Beavers as a Newly Qualified Teacher over ten years ago, I have been delighted to see the school go from strength to strength. As part of the senior leadership team, I relish the opportunity to support the school as it continues to strive for excellence for all of its pupils. The staff and governors of this school are truly dedicated to achieving the highest of standards for the children in our care, and I feel very privileged to be part of such a strong and supportive team. I am particularly passionate about continuing to build upon the excellent practice established in the Early Years and ensuring that all children have the best start to school life with as broad an education as possible.
